Round Guitar Concept

Had a dream last week where I turned on an old TV set and there was some type of UK rock band playing a round banjo shaped guitar with an RAF symbol on the body (guess that’s what made me think UK rock band). Looked interesting so I built it in modo over the weekend.

The Tide 6 Pack

A little late to jump on the “Tide Pod challenge” but here is my idea for future bad packaging for Tide.

Apple Weapons Lab v2

this is a model I built a few years ago. The concept was: what would an iphone look like if it was the shape of a hockey puck. I was testing a new lighting kit so I’ve been going though older projects that I remember being a pain lighting to see how they fare with the new kit. So this is more of an exercise in re-lighting and re-rendered. I also was not happy with previous UI of the device so it’s been modified as well.

My apologies Apple-

The Mood Gun

Over the past few months in the Modo forums there have been some incredibly talented artist who have been showing off the new MOP Boolean plugin. Seeing all the cool guns motivated me into joining in on the fun. So I mad this using the MOP Boolean plugin in Modo 11.1 and this is my entry into the MOP Boolean Gun Club.

For this gun the concept was simple. To make a smaller, sleeker, sexier and a little silly looking kind of a futuristic Walther PPK sized gun (granted it looks nothing like the PPK). Something that an assassin could use in say a futuristic Kill Bill 3. The Mood Gun is considerably dangerous yet none lethal. Various setting allow the user to alter or enhance the mood of a subject.

Some nice comments over in reddit’s Imaginary Technology subreddit!

Modo-dog action figure first MOP Booleans experiment

First MOP Booleans experiment. I wanted to see how difficult it would be to create points of articulation on a solid model for 3D printing. Turns out it’s quite simple after you create articulation cut pieces.

The Menace

tm1 Here is a render from an abstract 3D project I have been working on. I was gunning for a futuristic Art Nouveau style in this project. Hopefully I’ll have a few more up soon. -Modeled and rendered in Modo 801.

Hypothetical Fully Weaponized iPhone 6

So what’s the big difference between this and earlier iPhone models? Weapons baby! This model has been fully weaponized with four default weapon states (can be upgraded) below is shown the “shuriken” (throwing star) mode.

Steve Jobs was a brilliant man but lets face it, he was a bit of a hippie and held Apple back from this needed feature. The company stated recently that it is happy it can now help defend it’s user base literally.

Breaking Bad Hypothetical Arcade Game

breaking-bad-2
This morning I composited the arcade machine into the season one key art of Breaking Bad. All modelling, texturing, compositing and rendering was done in Modo 701 with post work in Photoshop CC.

Here is a simplified work process. After finding a high resolution image of the key art I removed Walt and made other small alterations. Brought the image into Modo and matched the perspective and rendered. The whole process took about 2 hours that’s not including the modeling and texturing of the arcade machine.
